As a part of the opening of the exhibition on Thursday, May 19th (7 p.m.:  DOX Centre for Contemporary Art Poupětova 1, Praha 7 – Holešovice) will be presented activities of La Strada Czech Republic and other NGO´s.

The exhibition will be open till June 27th, 2011.

Since October until December 2010 research among thai migrant workers in the Czech Republic was running. The main objective of this mapping was to assess whether the Thai workers are in need of assistance from the side of NGOs regarding the issues related to working conditions and employment generally, issues related to exploitation and access to worker’s/migrant’s/ human rights and issues related to migration status.

Prague, 18 March 2011 – Czech forestry companies that have been accused of the recurrent deceit of their employees from Vietnam, Slovakia, Romania and other countries plan once again to recruit workers for the season 2011. To support the workers' claim for unpaid wages and protest against the slow police investigation of the case, two Prague-based initiatives will organise a march against the exploitation of migrant workers in Czech state forestry.
