National Refferal Mechanism
The main coordinator of policies to combat human trafficking is the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic.
The Security Policy Department of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic is entrusted to perform the function called National Rapporteur, whose aim is to monitor and analyse the situation. The starting point of its activities is the National strategy to combat trafficking in human beings in the Czech Republic for the period 2012-2015, available on http://www.mvcr.cz/soubor/national-strategy-to-combat-trafficking-in-human-beings2012-2015-pdf.aspx. Based on this strategy, the ministry publishes each year the Status Report on Trafficking in Human Beings in the Czech Republic (the latest report covers the period 2014), available in Czech on http://www.mvcr.cz/soubor/zprava-o-stavu-osl-v-cr-2014-pdf.aspx.
The Ministry of the Interior Czech Republic carries out the Programme of support and protection of victims of trafficking, which provides trafficked persons with medical, social and legal assistance, as well as accommodation, and ensures safe return to their country of origin.
