Social assistance offer

If you are considering becoming a client of La Strada Czech Republic, or if you are already using the social services we offer, read the following section about what we can offer you in more detail:

1) Crisis Aid

• Accommodation

We offer accommodation in two shelters; one is for women, the other for men. We also offer to pay for clients to stay in special accommodation such as rehabilitation centres, psychiatric clinics, and sheltered accommodation for women with children. We will cover such costs for a maximum of seven days.

• Financial and material aid, sustenance

We will pay up to 150 CZK a day for clients to spend on food. The client receives these funds in regular instalments.
We provide basic clothing and footwear.
We can give clients funds to cover transportation.
We offer mobile phone credit.
We can cover the cost of medicines prescribed by a doctor as well as the fees incurred when visiting a healthcare professional.
We will pay for essential hygiene needs.

• Legal counselling

We can offer you legal counselling from partner law firms and non-governmental organisations for free.

• Health and psychiatric care

We can help you access, and in extreme circumstances, pay for healthcare and psychiatric care (such as medication which alleviates anxiety, helps you sleep and so on).

• An interpreting service

2) Sheltered Housing

• Accommodation

We offer accommodation in two shelters; one is for women, the other for men. We also offer to pay for clients to stay in special accommodation such as rehabilitation centres, psychiatric clinics and sheltered accommodation for women with children.

• Financial and material aid, sustenance
• Health and psychological/ psychiatric care
• Legal counselling and/or representation
• Linguistic interpreting

WE ALSO OFFER INDIVIDUALS USING THESE SERVICES:

• Costs to cover the journey back to your country of origin as well as money to cover the provision of care required in your homeland
• Work counselling
• A programme of activities for your spare time

3) Counselling service

• Help in resolving a critical situation
• Consistent information on possible ways of resolving your situation
• Help having your rights and interests upheld and help contacting other organisations and institutions which could help you
• Long-term psycho-therapeutic services
• Long-term legal representation
• Help when choosing to decide whether to use some of the other services La Strada provides
• The chance to share your problems and achievements with a social worker
• Help in assembling the documents required to legally live in the Czech Republic
• Help in drafting requests, complaints, explanations and judgements according to the need of the client
• Assistance and aid when negotiating with different government offices and organisations
• Advice and aid in clearing (purported and factual) debts
• Linguistic interpretation
• Other services

Our clients are offered these services free of charge, in certain cases in anonymity.

We can't promise to solve all of your problems and difficulties. We can, however, promise that La Strada's personnel will use all of their know-how, experience and legal possibilities to help you improve your situation.
